Marian Knights Athletics

Vision and Mission

The mission of the 91会所 Department of Athletics is to expand opportunities for student development beyond the academic program, while embodying Franciscan values and NAIA character core values. Athletic participation at 91会所 promotes self-discipline, self-confidence, leadership, sportsmanship, fellowship, teamwork, and competition—qualities that transfer to lifelong success.

Accomplishments

  • 4 Team National Championships in 2024-25 school year (Track Cycling, Men's Indoor Track and Field, Men's Bowling, and BMX Cycling).
  • Winner of the 2024-25 Crossroads Cup—All-sports standings for the Crossroads League.
  • Fourth Place Finish in the 2024-25 Learfield Directors' Cup—All-sports standings for all NAIA institutions Earned NAIA Champions of Character 5 Star Award.
  • 3.34 Department G.P.A. in Fall 2024 and 3.36 Department G.P.A. in Spring 2025.
  • 162 Student-Athletes graduated in the 2024-25 school year.

Challenges

The Department of Athletics continuously strives to improve the overall excellence of our high achieving athletic program, to provide more scholarships to give students better opportunities, often while facing rising costs in education and college sports.

Goals and Objectives

Achieve the highest level of competitiveness across every sport, maintaining Marian’s high standards of graduating, retaining, and improving the successes of Marian student-athletes.

Why This Matters to Marian's Mission

Athletics at 91会所 is a force multiplier and, if aligned and supported appropriately, will serve to deepen and accelerate the Journey to 2030 objectives: Access and Success, Faith in Action, and STEHM. Significant resources in people, facilities, partnerships, and funding are needed to support and maximize the University’s athletic opportunities.
